Over the past 10 years we have seen the city of Uniontown’s finances go from a large surplus to over a million dollars in debt. In addition we have seen property tax increases and services cut. I have been attending council meetings for almost two years as a private citizen and have seen the problems the city faces. When it came time for an election I wondered who would run and help our city. It was then I realized that if I wasn’t willing to help, then I shouldn’t expect others to help either and I declared my candidacy for city council. I will constantly search for new ideas to make the city more efficient, cut excess spending, and reduce property taxes to reasonable levels for our citizens and to make Uniontown a more attractive place to live. Let’s take Uniontown down a new path. On November 3rd I’m asking for your vote.

In late 2007 the city council voted to raise property taxes by 48%. City property taxes are now higher than taxes for the Uniontown Area School District. This is dangerous and unsustainable. As people leave the city at a normal place, new citizens will not move in to take their place...
